Open Barre with Ashley Gift Guide

The last thing we all need is another Gift Guide. Everywhere we turn, especially on Instagram every person we follow is recommending different things. It’s so confusing. With all of that being said, I am constantly asked (by clients, the nurse in my dermatologist’s office, moms at school pick-up and friends) about my favorite essentials. So I put together my must-haves for you to buy for your wife, best friend, sister or yourself this holiday season! This guide is full of things I wear or use daily and a few things on my own wishlist too! If my recommendations help just one person this holiday season, it’s worth it.

1. Wacoal Simone Sport Underwire Bra $68.00

This is by far my favorite sports bra I’ve ever had. Supportive, comfortable and flattering (no pinching in the back or armpit.) I was skeptical when I first ordered it…I’d never had a sports bra with underwire before, and the way the underwire was exposed on the outside just threw me off. But the excellent reviews held true – this bra is everything. Perfect for high-impact workouts and so comfortable you want to wear it all day long. I now have it in four colors and can’t say enough good things. You have to give this one a try.  A sport bra like no other!

2. Addison Bay Sweatsuit – I absolutely love this small brand. My sister, who works in the fashion industry, turned me on to it and their loungewear and activewear is fun, easy and comfortable. Addison Bay was founded by Philadelphia-based entrepreneur, Marguerite Adzick, after her passion for fitness merged with her successful career in the fashion industry. The pieces are supportive and functional, but also stylish enough for on-the-go when we just don’t have time to shower and change after a workout and need to get the day started! This sweatsuit is definitely a splurge, but one of my top picks for myself this Christmas. It’s perfect for Sundays in front of the fire, or rainy days running to pick the kids up from school.  You will get so much use out of this. It will become your go to comfy outfit.

Lombard Crewneck – $128

Callowhill Sweatpants –  $128

3. Old Navy Extra High-Waisted PowerSoft Light Compression Hidden-Pocket Leggings for Women – $39.99

I’ve tried every brand of legging and I find these winners to be as comfortable as any high end pair we all have (you know the ones I’m talking about.) An absolute steal at $40, but usually you can find them for less with a promotion or coupon! I love the extra high waist, the butter soft touch of the fabric, and the great color choices. Give these leggings a try – you’ll never go back to paying for the high-priced ones.

4. Luella and Stone Bracelets – $55 & Up

This Connecticut-based small jewelry brand is unique, well-made and stuns. My husband got me a bracelet for Mother’s Day and I wear it almost every day. It just adds a pop of color and fun to everyday activewear and dresses up a night time look. Every piece is handcrafted and the owner meticulously sources materials from around the globe. I am asked where I got this bracelet almost every time I wear it. I have my eye on several pieces this Holiday Season and you will too!

5. Sweaty Betty Recycled Cotton Harmonise Luxe Fleece Sweatshirt $138.00

Another splurge where sweatshirts are concerned but I got this for Christmas in 2019 and consistently wear it once  week. I love the flattering cut, the holes for your thumbs, the fleecy soft fabric, and the neckline. Any girl would love this versatile piece. Great with leggings, sweatpants, jeans or trousers.

6. Orgain Organic Protein Powder – $31.99

I get asked A LOT what protein I use in my smoothies. There are a ton of not great choices out there with chemicals, additives and frankly not the right protein. But Orgain is tasty (not chalky) and made of organic, clean ingredients. It adds a creaminess to smoothies and is tasty enough to enjoy simply mixed with water. I feel safe giving this brand to my kids and enjoying in a smoothie several times a week after a great workout.

7. Open Barre with Ashley Swag – $28 Grey or Black Sweatshirt with logo

$14 baseball caps (black or white) with logo

$12 White Mug with logo

This is the sweatshirt and hat I throw on the most. I designed the logo myself and love the play on words since everyone who knows me know two of the things I love most are barre and cocktail-time at a bar. Support my small business in style!

Vemno @OpenBarrewithAshley and put in the note if its for sweatshirt and/or hat. I will email you a receipt asking for size and mailing address!

8. Avocado Winter Phoenix Fire Legging – $80

This fantastic, California-based brand produces leggings unlike any other I’ve ever worn. The fabric is thick, sucks you in, and is uber comfortable. I love these for winter workouts and also on cold days running errands. They also make your derriere look high and tight (And who doesn’t want that?!) I love the ribbing detail in the fabric. They are also made in America which is definitely an added plus.
